I purchased a new Computer w/ a X64 Amd processer. My computer came with windows XP, but my friend was telling me about this "Windows X64" and I was wondering if anyone knew about it, or if anyone can tell me if it is avaliable for free of if I have to buy it. I want to know how it compares to Xp home edition and what it's benifits are. Thanks

Hi Flyboy!
My welcome to PC Helpforum! The biggest difference is that Windows XP 32-bit uses your processor as a 32-bit processor, and the 64-bit is able to get more out of your processor as it uses the full 64-bit. As far as I know, there's not that many difference but this. You won't be able to get it free, I'm afraid. If you got any more questions about it, feel free to post. Bluefish |
