Default [Fixed] Windows XP removal

Hi All,
I need to remove windows Xp,it does not show up in add/remove programmes.

I decided to update a year 2000 version of Xp and since then things have gone wrong, in my add/remove programmes it shows the hotfix updates but they do not show that they are actaully loaded up ( I only say this as it does not show any MB taken up by the fix )

I have tried deleting then individually, each time I delete one the comp rebbots.

When I try to defrag it tells me I do not have enough disc space.

So I want to off load and reload windows Xp and not worry about the updates as the comp is only used for games mainly.

If I need to wipe the whole hard drive thats would not worry me,the HD is in FAT 32.
Thanks guys............Andy

G'day cartandpeg

Here is a quote from the microsoft website:
If you want to return to Windows 95, Windows NT, or Windows 2000

If you want to remove Windows XP and return to Microsoft Windows 95, Windows NT, or Windows 2000, you must reinstall Windows 95, Windows NT, or Windows 2000, restart your computer in Safe mode, and then back up all your critical data before you reinstall Windows 95, Windows NT, or Windows 2000.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q303661/

Basically I recommend doing a complete reinstall, basically backup any information that you need and then boot off your Windows 2000 CD.
From the menu, format the hard drive and install 2000.

Have you installed an operating system from scratch before?
If not and you would like help just let us know.
