Unfortunately, it doesnt come with a warrranty, and I bought it over 2 months ago. I have a tech person that I can call, and I probably should (another computer in our house has a dead motherboard also), so I'll just do that.

Thanks a million for all your help

That sounds like a good idea, sorry that we couldn't solve you problem.

Let us know if your friend finds the fault or is able to fix it, we would be interested in the outcome either way.

Alright, so I had a computer technician come and look at it. Apparently, it is a problem with the connection from the powerboard to the motherboard. It would cost about $500 to fix (I bought it for $430 on eBay!), so I emailed the person who I bought it from and returned it. Im now looking for another 1, so we'll see!

That is brilliant, well the fact that you were able to return it. Sometimes returning things to people on Ebay can be quite tricky. (but not this time )

Good luck on finding another laptop, if you need any help you know where to come.

Yah, fortunately, bought it from a large eBay store, so that wasnt a big deal. I found another one, its an HP AMD 1.8ghz, so hopefully, itll be a bit more reliable than the last one.
