Default How do you save your programs

Hi All

I'm a newbie and I think I have a very elementary question, so here goes!

I want to change my operating system from W98 to WXP. How do I save all of my applications, if I don't have the original installation cd's?

Talking Welcome!!

Hi Giulia

Welcome to our help forum. We've a great team of techs to help here.

I'm afraid you can't save your applications, but you could upgrade from 98 to XP if you really want to keep the applications. Best choice would be to install from scratch, are your applications really that important? Can you not get hold of the software?

Gromit

Hi Giulia!
Welcome to PC Helpforum!

Gromit is right, in fact it's nearly impossible to save the applications.
You'd better format your drive too, as Windows XP works better on a newer file system, called NTFS.
I think you have to install almost every application again on a new install.
