Question I Cant Download stuff!!!

Im having trouble trying to explain what the problem is so here is an example step by step of what happens, hope somebody can help me out!
In this example im going to try and download Skype.

1. I'm on the Skype homepage, i've clicked on the download Skype link.

2. The File download security box opens as normal, i can choose Run, Save or Cancel.

3. I've clicked the Run button, as it says to do and as i usually would.

4. The File Download box ( the 1 with the picture of the globe on the left and a folder on the right) opens as normal, the green progress bar goes up as normal and then the box closes!

5. Then i get a security warning that says the publisher couldnt be verified, are u sure u want to run this software?

6. I think yes, so i click on run. THEN NOTHING HAPPENS AT ALL!!!

If i search my computer for 'skype' It finds no results!

This happens on all things i try to download when the run, save cancel boxes appear!

same thing happens when im having a chat on msn messenger and somebody sends me a file, for example, a picture, progress bar goes up and it says you have recived the file click this link to view etc, i click the link, NOTHING!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Somebody help it's driving me insane!!!

Hehe superbez, don't go insane on us just yet! Welcome to PCHF, follow the [Pre-Work] procedure in my signature below and post the two resulting logs as attachments.
