Windows XP/2000 - lost file posted in the Operating Systems forums; i had a file a with some text on it and it was erased the info on it i dont know how, theres any way of recovering it..?...

That depends a great deal on what you have done since the file disappeared. Is it the actual file that is gone or text written in the file?

Can you tell us please the program you were using?

tks for the welcome..

the file was info2.db that is a file used by darkbot (irc bot) that contains all the defined topics, just a small part of the data remained there (20 of 7000 lines)

Im afraid that there is no way of retrieving that data , not that i know anyway.

i use some software (undelete and unrase stuuf) and it recover the and ancient file that has the data on it but the file is all messed up with losts of strange caracters

Does system restore help or as I have got Nortons Go Back ? I am sure I have seen a prog. that is like "recover my photo's" only it say's "recover my files"....its worth a google.
