Default Computer freezes and restarts

hi all~

First, I went through the check list of things to do. Updated some drivers for my new vid card. Haven't overclocked it (yet) but the PC restarts on it's own once in a while and also, while playing games, it can just freeze in mid action. I'm not taxing the PC too much in my opinion.

This is a new problem that has developed over the past few weeks. I've done AdAware, Trend Micro online scan and have a full (paid for) updated version of Norton Virus protection.

Thoughts?

I tried to attach the Hijack this log but it didn't work.

I am running SP2.

All fans are spinning and temps seem to be ok. Tend to stay under 50 degrees.

Thanks for the info though. I don't have the old vid card anymore and did find a quite a bit of spyware on the PC so maybe I'm missing something.

The reason for your game crashes may be norton, these big fancy anti viruses that cost money to update usually slow down if not crash your computer, also zonealarm does the same thing in many cases, try www.tune-up.com and download tune up utillities 30 day trial, scan with that and see if it fixes anything

once download tune up, install and run, click clean up and repair on right then click remove invalid entries and references from your system, press next and wait for scan to complete, after you have done that click start cleaning to the right above the problem summary, press next then finish, then close, after that click optimize and improve, then tune up system optimizer, complete maintainence on computer, click start scan, wait to finish, click correct problems then finish and close, restart comp and see if games run.
