Default [Answered] Unable to update office

Hiya,
I have a pc that used to be part of an office network, I have all the admin passwords and access that I need.

I am having trouble when trying to update microsoft office - is there a registry entry I need to delete (I had to do something similar to get xp updates)

I'm using office 2003 and getting the following message:

NOTE: Your system settings prohibit you from installing Office updates yourself. It is likely that you have system administrators who analyze the updates and then distribute them in other ways.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I would suggest downloading the full administrator service pack 2 for office 2003 (101mb) and install that. This will cover everything that important.

Hi Reed , welcome to PCHF.

Have a look in youre registry for this entry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Offi ce\Common\OfficeUpdate

And set the BlockUpdates value data field to "0"

That should do the trick.
