Default Dell laptop boot disk

I need some help. I bought a refurbished Dell Laptop and it doesn't have an operating system. I plan on loading Windows 2000 Pro. The boot diskette that I have evidently doesn't have the right cd drivers. I boot from a floppy that I got from bootdisk.com. I think that the boot disk isn't loading the correct cd drivers for the laptop. Everything boots fine, but when I try to access the cd, it gives me an error message that the cd is not found. Any solutions? Thanks!

Hya CavTrooper , welcome to PCHF.

Have you checked if the bootorder in the bios is setup to boot from cd? Easiest setup would be:

A: floppie
B:cd/dvd
C:Harddisk

And wich bootdisk are you using? Are you using these?

W2K Pro:
Disk1 | Mirror
Disk2 | Mirror
Disk3 | Mirror
Disk4 | Mirror
makeboot.exe | Mirror
makebt32.exe | Mirror
