Default PLEASE help me find a lost hard drive!!

Hi friends,

I need your help!
I plugged in my old 80gig Emachine hardrive into my new Presario/Compaq. I was having no problems accessing programs on both the compaq hard drive and my emachine.
Now, I cannot find the emachine hard drive anywhere. The main reason I hung onto it was for all the music on it. I was using my media on it just fine in Window media player, until it decided to just stop working. That's when I realized that it was not detecting that hard drive at all.
I have a hunch that it has something to do with recently installing symantec/norton software. I don't think it was working after that. Like the 'foreign' hard drive is on some sort of autoblock. (Excuse my computer illiterate babbling).
I need help detecting it again. Any and all suggestions/tips/walk throughs are greatly appreciated.

(and then once we find it, I'll hit you with my next question concerning that drive!)

Thanks, ya'll
~Brad

Hi Brad, welcome to our site.

I think you may have missed something important here. Possibly you haven't set the jumpers on the end of the hard drive correctly. Have a look at this excellent tutorial created by one of our staff, Zimbo: http://www.pchelpforum.com/tutorials...e-your-pc.html
