@Windy,

Here is Microsoft's explanation of the difference

The bottom line is that Pro is designed to be set up in an administered envirionment. It really was designed for business use. It also has a good deal more security installed in it. However, the requirements for both Home and Pro are the same. Let's see what Matt found.

I went to your link and found something unique about XP Pro. That is: support of dual processors. Yet I find a lot of AthlonX2-939 gaming computers being sold with XP Home. Can someone please clarify this If I build a computer with a AthlonX2 4200 CPU with it require XP Pro for dual processor support? Help

Hi Davidstark429,

Welcome to PCHF. We have a wonderful staff of very knowledgable techs here, and I am sure that we will be able to answer your question.

However, it's best to post your questions in a new thread, that way you know that it will be answered just for you. In the future, if you find a thread that has some relevance to you, as you did here, you can reference the thread as a link in your post for the techs.

I will move this one for you, look forward to seeing you in the forums.
