Question Lost Files?

Could someone please help me. A couple of days ago "my music", "my pictures" and "my videos" were deleted from my computer somehow. I was istening to my music then it all just dissapeared. Ive tried them file recovery programs but only found a very small amount of music which i had, and i cannot find my videos or my pictures. Could someone please help.

And does anyone know a FREE file recovery program.

I wud apprecticate it if anyone cud help, cheers.

Hi LedZeppelin!
Welcome to PC Help Forum!

Assuming that you use Windows XP, I have moved this thread to our Windows XP section.
I think one of our members will give you a suggestion soon enough.
Also, please take a look in our downloads section to see if there's one mentioned there.

Welcome to the forum.

I am sorry but files don't just delete themselves..unless you have a seriously nasty virus, which would possibly show other symptoms.

The best place for us to start is with you following the instructions in the "Pre-Work" link in my signature. Once you have posted those logs then we may have a clearer idea as to what we are dealing with.

Why not follow our tried and tested Pre-Work method to see if you have some sort of infection.

Yup , the Prework sounds like a very good idea.

But give Disk Investigator a try to see if it can recover more files:
