Hmmm..that's annoying. Are you following the proceedure correctly, some printers like the drivers to be installed first before the device is connected.
Which version of the printer do you have, let me see if we can find you another driver; » HP PSC 1401 All-in-One » HP PSC 1402 All-in-One » HP PSC 1410 All-in-One » HP PSC 1410v All-in-One » HP PSC 1410xi All-in-One » HP PSC 1417 All-in-One ![]() ![]()

Its the HP PSC 1402, i just check the website for drivers but all they offer is the one I have on the disc"CD version 5.3.0b.
The installation instructions tell me to install software before connecting the USB cable.

At what point exactly does it freeze...what is on the setup screen at the time?
Can you also unplug any other devices from your PC when you are doing the install (USB). Are you running the full setup? Have you tried adding the printer as a new piece of hardware and then locating the drivers on the CD Rom and installing it that way?

It freezes at 2% remaining also stage 2/4. I have got any other USB connected and its the basic installation "48.4M". I have tried there is an express installation but thats "309.96M". I go try installing the other way and let you know how I get on with that.
will I connect the USB before doing this? THANX
