Nope , no damage done ofcourse by removing those. It just looks like the problem isn't caused by malware.

Joe,
Why would my adobe reader display in english for a period of time and then switch to chinese? I am positive it is not a "chinese version" but nice guess anyway. I have since reinstalled XP and starting from scratch. I feel this problem will start affecting others and hopefully someone will be able to figure this one out. I appreciate your help. Dogbait
