Hello all... Thought maybe you could help.
My mother is trying to run some new software in her computer but the drive will not read the CD. I know the CD works because I put it into another PC to check it. I also know the CD Drive works because I placed other software in it to make sure the drive was working. It seems like it will not read it if it is "new" software. The other CD's are already installed on her computer but it would Execute the installation from the CD when inserted. (We would just cancel out of it.) I did try another peice of software that was not installed already and the drive wouldn't read that one either.
I tried to restart (soft boot), I tried to restart (hard boot) and I did a system restore to yesterday, thinking maybe there was a Windows Update that messed something up.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Jen

 Hey Jen,
Nice to see you back. We're a little short handed today. If you right click on My Computer, and select Explore, and then click on the drive with the CD in it, does it show all of the files? Try clicking on Setup from there. If that doesn't work, try copying the entire contents of the CD to a folder on the desktop (create a new one) and try executing from there. Also, is your mother's computer updated? Look forward to your reply, TTFN LGW

Thank you. When I right click on My Computer, there is nothing showing. It's like the disk isn't even there. It's the strangest thing I have ever seen. (Ok maybe not the strangest). So I cant copy the files or install from there.

Hey Jen,
When you say "nothing is showing" you mean just in that drive, correct? Also, does the drive show at all? Look forward to your reply, TTFN LGW
