Help booting Packard Bell
Hello peeps, my house mate has some how managed to kill his PC, for some reason it just won't Boot up.
When pressing the 'On' button the PC just displays a grey screen asking if you want to enter the BIOS [F2] or if you want to use a Boot Device [F8] It runs XP & there are no XP install disk's with the Machine, just 4 Packard Bell recovery disks. Can anyone help me or offer me any advice.

It gives me the option to select the first Boot device, the options being the Floppy Disk or the DVD drive.

Is/was there coming any noise from the HD? And if you go into youre bios , is the HD still detected there?

When in BIOS the HD is there, when i boot up the system displays:
"Pri Master HDD Error Run SETUP" The HD also makes a nasty clicking sound too - here's an audio file! http://homepage.ntlworld.com/checkmeonetime/nasty.WAV (280kb) |
