Then it still depends on what you mean exactly with that. If you just borrowed the disc and made a copy , or if you have bought the disc , made a copy and sold it , then it is still not legal.

But if you lost the disc , or it broke ect. then its legal.


Anyway , it sounds like either the disc is not bootable , or the bootorder is setup wrong. Do you know for sure it is a proper bootable disc? If not , can you test it in an other pc? And have a look in youre bios to check how the bootorder is set.
