hey i have a problem with my computer. I connect using dial up. The first time connect after a reboot everything works fine. If it disconnects during that time and i reconnect, the internet runs slow and throws up the "page not being able to be displyed" like it's not connected. I've reformated it twice and tried everything i know what to do. Can someone please help me! using xp and i've got all the updates. And it'll also drops the line by itself. Thats when i start having the problems.

hello basher, welcome to PCHF.

Drop lines happen due to inactivity of a connection. why your computer is having problems after reconnect is another issue. what type of computer and modem are you using?

I'm using a E machine and the modem is a u.s robotics. I just bought this modem thinking is would work right. I've used another u.s. robotics for about 3 years now and didn't start having problems until about 2 weks ago.
