Default [Resolved] Rundll?

Our ever investigating son has bought our spare comp to a halt.
As far as I can find out he loaded up Windows XP Pro 1998-2001 version.
He then uninstalled it due to some conflicts he was having.
When the comp now starts showing Windows 98 ( as it was prior) however on the screen the following appears in a box:

RUNDLL, C:\windows\system\NvCpl.dll, System cannot find the file specified.

After clicking ok on the box,I have nothing that shows when I press my start button,no programmes and the norm u find when u press the start button.
I insert the windows 98 disc and nothing, and when I get into explore my comp and click on any thing a window shows me the following:

%THISDIRNAME%

The only way I can shut down the comp is to crash it.
All I can tell u about the comp is the following Pentium 11 and 256mb,sorry, any help on this would be appreciated.
Thankyou.

I dont know whats going on , but NvCpl.dll is from youre nvidia video card.

Try to boot in safemode and uninstall/reinstall the driver for it and see if that helps.

Default Thanks Joe

Hi Joe,
thanks mate for that info,I might just take the prob with the comp very slowly.
It has major issues,so i will try and see if i can get it at least running so that has some stability, the comp asked me for a disc for the driver, which I do not have,so rather than ask a million questions i will post later with less. (hopefully).
Thanks again..

Let us know how you get on , and ask away if needed.

And if needed , you can get the nvidia drivers here:
