Default Real Time Video Capture

I have 2 questions. First: is real(-)time hyphenated? Second: I've been looking a some video capture ideas. I want to record video from my Xbox in real(-)time. My final solution to record it is buying a video capture card, probably a cheap one under $50. Is it possible to record video straight from the box to my PC via the card? I can deal with the mess of cables: I have a TV tuner but it doesn't connect to the PC with any kind of information transferring cable, just VGA and speaker jack. So, I figure if I can connect the box straight to the card then I can have some kind of RCA cable splitter so I can connect it to my monitor via the tuner I have already so I can see what I'm doing too. I'm sure that will take a few processor cycles to churn over to get what I'm saying, but what I want to know: CAN IT BE DONE??? Your responses are appreciated!

Hi Derek,

Welcome to PCHelpForum, enjoy the site.

I'm not a genius when it comes to hardware but I imagine it can be done. I've had problems recording XBOX to VHS but just as well because VHS is a waste of time nowadays (my opinion and no more ).

We have a great team of hardware folks so hang tight and we'll get that proverbial ball rolling.
