Can you post a hijackthis log? Maybe some malware is causing problems. See below for a link.

ok i have attached the file, a weird thing though on the top part of the hijack this file it says windows xp sp2 (WindowsNT)

what does that mean?

Thats normal that hjt shows it like that, windows XP is based on windows NT.

But i see no malware problems or anything , and also no debugger running. But that doesn't help to fix the prob im afraid.

i fixed it, what the problem was was sp2.
I uninstalled system pack 2 and it worked.

Great to here it finally works. I havent heard of any problems with sp2 and virtuall drives before , but atleast it is fixed for you.:smiley:

PS, is sp1 still present on youre pc after removing sp2 , or are you now using XP without any service packs?
