I'm trying to transfer some folders onto my desktop so that I can download the programs, but i continue to get an error message that says its timed out... What does that mean, and how can I get it to NOT time out so I can download these programs properly?

K let me start over. I'm trying to transfer two folders from an ftp page. Its something used in the military. My dad gave me the link, told me which ones to transfer to download to my desktop. I transferred the first 4, downloaded those just fine. The reason he wanted me to transfer them was for easier downloading, and also so that he can get rid of the files on the ftp page for security reasons or something. In the process of transferring each file, one file gets almost halfway done before a message pops up saying, "An error ocurred while copying the file. The operation timed out." The other file gets 95% done, before saying that. I click ok, but the files stay on the desktop. When I click on them to try to download, it doesn't work. Obviously, b/c over half of the inside files and contents are missing from the original file. So, how do I get those files to download properly and not get the "timed out" message?

1) When a file download times out, the time alotted for the transfer has expired. That usually occurs due to a slow connection from the user to the internet or from the server to the internet.
2) If I understand this correctly, you are trying to download payware. While I am not sure of your intentions in doing this, I am closing the topic until I can get an administrative opinion regarding this topic.
