Question Sound issue

First, I am NOT that computer savvy, so answers must be in the form of "computers for dummies":laughing4 . i had a problem with this and had to have it reformatted. when i got it back, there is no sound. says no audio device. everything is hooked up ok. went to emachines and d/l the driver for ac '97. installed everything. still no sound. i also just did that belarc thing but don't know how to post it here for a bit of assistance. nothing is muted, there is no driver for the speakers i think. i'm at the end of my rope. i'm new here too and am not very good with this site yet, so if this is on here already, sorry, couldn't find it. thank you in advance

 Hi Lisa,

Welcome to PCHF. We have a VERY friendly staff of techs and users on this site, and I am sure that we are going to be able to help you.

First, have you saved the Belarc report? If so, do you know what format?

You could also, copy and paste just the parts that are related to your basic computer information, like the Motherboard, CPU, Soundcard, RAM, and the Audio section.

Have you gone into the control panel to look at the devices section?

Look forward to your reply,

TTFN

LGW
