Well beside the things already mentioned in here, you will be able to order a free Service Pack 2 CD. Look at the Microsoft website for it. Also you could perhaps download it at a friend and burn it to CD.

If anyone ever has this kind of problem try this. Unplug ALL cables from your modem. Let stand five minutes then plug in your ethernet cord and power supply cord (but not the cable coax) let it stand like that for at least ten minutes then plug the cable coax back into your modem. you can do this while your pc is on. Im now getting speeds well above 2862 kbps up from 100 kbps! Nice eh? thanks for all the help.
Also check this out! Remember when I said this! "Ping tests are horrible too, my lowest was 217 and my highest reachable ping (below 2000) was 1130." Now my highest ping is 66 and my lowest is 24, thank you oxy clean!... Last edited by NetB0ng; 01-07-2006 at 11:48 PM. |
