Hey Im not really good with advanced computer stuff, so well this is what happened I installed a creative labs mp3 player and the software and then deleted it because it didnt work and i foud out I could just plug mp3 player in and drop music into the folder with it. Well when i guess I installed and or uninstalled the program it messed up how videos play off the internet. I used to just click a link from the internet that would play a video and it would automaticlly start playing in windows media player but now it says do you want to open or save this file. So if I click open after loading it says c\documents and settings\brendan(myname)\localsettings\temparary internet files\content.IE5\4PQ7O56R\insideeditonhi[1].wmv
I would like it go back to were when I clicked it it just opened in windowsmedia player and played. Any help greatly apreciated. Sorry if this is in wrong section.

Welcome to the forum spkid18. Sounds like this could be a file association issue.
To re-associate .wmv files with the media player do this (from MS): First find a .wmv file and save it to a location on your pc where you're going to find it easily. To See All File Extensions 1.On the Tools menu in My Computer or Windows Explorer, click Folder Options. 2.Click the View tab. 3.Clear the Hide extensions for known file types check box.To change file associations 1.Right-click a file with the extension whose association you want to change, and then click Open With. 2.In the Open With dialog box, click the program where you want the file to open, or click Browse to locate the program that you want. 3.Select the Always use the selected program to open this kind of file check box.
