Unhappy Computer Crashing

Hi im new to all this computer stuff so wondered if anyone could help.

I have windows XP and everytime i try to install the drivers/software for my HP printer the computer freezes. The tower 'beeps' as if i have just turned it on and i then have to reset it. This also happens sometimes even if the computer is sitting idol.

If it helps the screen goes all funny i.e loads of different lines across it.
I have formatted my hard drive on advice of a friend but that has not solved the problem.

Hope someone can help or at least point me in the right direction.
Cheers

Looks pretty good , but these can be fixed:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MSMSGS] "C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe" /background
O16 - DPF: {15AD6789-CDB4-47E1-A9DA-992EE8E6BAD6} - http://static.windupdates.com/cab_ad.../bridge-c9.cab

Nothing that would help with youre prob im afraid.

But can you also post the Ewido log?

If it helps the screen goes all funny i.e loads of different lines across it.
This can be artifacts caused by an overheating graphics card as well. Do you know if you have onboard graphics or a regular graphics card?
