You can post a screenshot of your running processes in your task manager for us to look at.

There are a few things you can do to 'cleanup' your system.
1.
- Cleaning your registry using regcleaner and easycleaner be very carefull.
- When using regcleaner only use the extra->clean registry->'do them all'
- When using easyclenaer only use 'delete files' and 'delete history'

2.
- Start windows explorer
- Goto extra->folder options->check 'show hidden files and folders'
- Browse to drive:/windows/prefetch
- Sort the fiels by date
- Delete all files older then a month
- close windows explorer

3.
- Goto start->control panel->system->advanced->settings (the first one)->advanced->change
- Here set the minimum size of the pagefile to 1x your ram and the max size to 1.5x your ram (preferably not on the drive you have windows installed on)

4. Reboot

Bram
ps. a startuplog will also be nice so we can find unnecesary programs starting up. You can do this by downloading startup list or by downloading and running hijackthis. In both cases please attach the logfile instead of copy-pasting it.

Nice, very clean. You can also run hijackthis, which sometimes shows more processes but this looks very clean. The only thing you can do is to disable msn messenger to start with windows.

You can/should also disable the Windows Messenger service:

Please download Shoot The Messenger

Download and run the small (22 kbyte) "ShootTheMessenger.exe" utility. It will display the current status of your system's Messenger Service. The button near the bottom of its window will allow you to set the service to whichever state ? running or disabled ? that you desire.

If, for any reason, you should ever choose to re-enable the Windows Messenger Service, simply re-run ShootTheMessenger to do so.
