hi i own a pcg-z1vap laptop i have a couple of problems.. if anyone can help me, it will be greatly appreciated.
i tried creating recovery discs through the software that was with included with the laptop. it allowed me to copy 8 cds, but on the last one it wanted to reboot and it did not indicate that it was finished.
i rebooted and hit F10 to enter recovery mode
but now everytime i reboot its saying
INF file txtsetup.sif is corrupt or missing, status 14. Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit.
if the disc are corrupt or broken you can get a new copy free of charge from sony. just call their 1800 # in your infomation packet that came with your laptop. i had to do this with my mom's sony when she broke disc 2 of the recovery disc.
Hi Delite, somehow I didn't read your post sorry for that...
The only way to get out of recovery mode is to do a full clean install of winxp. But since the creation of the recovery discs went somehow wrong the only option you have is to contact sony and explain the situation or go back to the store where you've bought the laptop.
