Default Unknown USB Device

Hello, I just got my new IPod Nano for xmas, and im not sure if this problem is a motherboard software, or ipod nano software issues. I put my nano USB into the USB and the other end into the ipod nano and under the device manager it says Unkown Device. I rightclick this and hit porperties and under device status it saus - No Drivers are installed for this device.

The only CD I got with the ipod nano, is the one that I put into my cd drive, started to run the program, till it told me "Please connect your iPod to see if it needs to be formatted." and this is when i run into this unknown device problem, so I dont think it has anything to do with the ipod or apple software.

Hi Vicond,

I have had the same problem with my digital camera. Did you connect the device before installing the drivers? This can cause problems...I'm not sure why. Try removing the "unkown device" from your device manager and any related software using Add/Remove Programs. Reboot your PC and install the drivers again. Do not plug in the iPod until prompted to this time.

Let me know if that works.
