Default Safe Mode problems
Help..what am I doing wrong. I hit f8 and highlight safe mode but the screen goes black. The wording "Safe mode" is in both bottom corners. But there are no icons to click to run ewido security suite.

Welcome to PCHF. Glad to see your trying to do the prework on your own.

It would be helpful to know what kinds of problems led you here in the first place. Why are you running the ewido scan. Can your PC boot into regular mode?

Also while you are in safemode do you see the startbar?

If not try press CTRL+ESC and see whether the Start menu pops up.
