LOL, that's Linus silly! But seriously, it wasn't relevant to you, kind of a side jaunt.

I was talking about this question

ok when it asks where to download to why dose it ask what country there is like 6 choices and is the note pad a office program?
The reason that it asks you to choose a country site for the download is that it is usually faster to download something from a closer location. It is also sometimes an issue with server use, as more populated areas may have higher server use than others which would effect your download.

Notepad is a Microsoft Program, it is intergrated with but not part of the Office Suite.

I am pretty sure I don't have a "office program "of any kind
when I go to write something all I have access to is MS notepad(whatever this means) Ugh I'm A blockhead!!

do I need to get/purchase a office program?if so are they expensive?

 SR you are very funny

No, if it is directing you to NotePad, which is a very simple version of a Word Processor, you can probably use that, but for better functionality, as Mad suggested, Open Office, a freeware program should do you just fine.

BTW, we love newbies here. You just keep asking all the questions you need to.
