Default [Fixed] Windows Update Problems

Hi ,
Yesterday i formatted my computer and when i installed windows and installed all my drivers blah blah the windows update part came up. I decided i never wanted to straight away as i had to sort out my Norton Internet Security. So i selected the Update at a certain time option. I did every day at 12 am. This is a real pain as im always still awake then and on my computer and it restarts .
How can i change the option? thanks

EDIT
I have Service Pack 1

Hi CowBurn, welcome to the PCHF forum.

To disable the update at a certain time option, go to control panel,

click on "Automatic Updates"

click on the "turn off automatic updates".

If u feel that there is a need for you to update once u finish your norton stuff, click on IE , and then "Tools", click on windows update. It will automatically search for the updates you have not recieved and download it and install it into your computer.

Oh, another thing, it's not very safe using service pack 1, and i urgently urge you to go get the service pack 2 at microsoft website.

Matt
