Hi Butalso!
Welcome to PC Help Forum!

Depending on the kind of stream, your computer will play it in Real or WMP, you can do nothing about it because they're different media types.
Does it happen on every stream you try to watch?
What are you system specifications?

Bluefish

Just a hunch... Have you tried pressing <Ctrl>-<Return> (Hold control and press return) while the movie is playing?

hello bluefish,
i am running windows xp and am using the latest version of WMP. the blockage problem takes place only when a clip is run via windows media player. i have no problem what so ever with real player. When surfing the web, some hyperlinks automatically run WMP. yes, there are some links that offer the choice to run the clip using either real or WMP, but others do not. so what do with these?
my understanding is that when i make Real as my default player, intended clips are supposed to be watched via Real!
i may not have expressed my concern correctly; what happens is that when a clip is run via WMP, i get a full screen that can not be minimized; therefore, i cannot acess any other program except wathing the clip that i opened. this happens for all clips using WMP, from different sites. thanks for your help.

wish you, your family, pchelpforum team and memeber, and the rest of the world a merry christmas,

Hi Butalso!
Does the WMP video play in the Internet Explorer screen, or does the whole Windows Media Player pop-up at playing the video?
Blue

Have you tried reinstalling WMP??

you can just delete it with control panel, and then reinstall by downloading it again from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...a/default.mspx

hope it works...
