Default [Fixed] Windows Media Player

Hello, can any body help me. I'm using windows xp home, ie6 and windows media player 10. Windows Media Player 10 crashes on me constantly whenever I try to play streaming media (In any player). It will crash in IE if the site has a media player on it, I just get the message wmp10/ie has encountered a problem and needs to close. I scanned for virus and spyware and none of them found anything. I even tried reinstalling Media Player 10 and doing a system restore and still nothing worked. I never had this problem before. I tried using another account on the computer and it works ok. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks for the help.

Hi Oakes_E,

Welcome to PCHF. We have a wonderful team of computer techs here with a broad range of knowledge. I am sure that we will be able to help you with your WMP.

First of all, can you please verify that all of your updates are current? Is this a problem that has always occured, or did it begin when you upgraded to WMP 10?

Look forward to your reply,

TTFN

LGW

OK, let's start out by ruling out malware. I know you have done several scans, but let's just make sure. Please follow the PreWork instructions in the link in my sig. post back the resulting logs, and we'll start from there.

Look forward to your reply,

TTFN

I love Windows it's things like this that make it seem almost human..

User: Load [PROGRAM]

Windows: Nah!! I don't feel like it right now.

(the next day)

User: You know Mr. Windows I could really use [PROGRAM] right now!!

Windows: Fine!!
