Unhappy help, my h/d corrupted

I wonder anybody can help me. I think Trend Micro cuz my hd corrupted!! The last thing i do was scanning my local drives with Trend Micro online!! Then the computer hang half way. I restarted and failed, saying the ntoskrnl.exe file missing. After checking the system, I found that my OS partition is totally corrupted!!!! I can't even read that partition now even i try to read my harddisk in other computer. SHARK!!! Give me back my data!!!! I m very disappointed with Trend Micro.
By the way i m using win2k(fat32). my h/d has 4 partitions. the main OS is win2k pro at drive D:, Trend micro hang while scanning my F: drive.
What i have tried: 1. in DOS, my D: drive not accessible.
2. i load my harddisk in win98, D: not accessible too.
3. i loaded my harddisk in other pc, with win 2k, D: still not
accessible, while boot-up scanned the F: and fixed some
errors, deleted lots of my files(can i get the deleted files
back)?
4. I loaded my hardDisk in other pc, with win xp, D: still not
accessible
5. I tried using some data recovery software, all failed reading
my D: partition.
6.What else can i do? will Nortan Ghost help if i clone my current h/d, if it works, i will go buy a new harddisk to clone. My current h/d is IDE, if i buy a SATA h/d, will there be any conflict?
Please help me, i need to get my data back?
Thanks a lots in advance

 Hi Zeotrex,

Welcome to PCHF. We have a wonderful team of techs here with a vast array of computer knowledge, and I am sure that we will be able to help you.

First of all, what happened with TrendMicro, I am assuming you are talking about Housecall, is probably due to a virus that was already on your system. What were the issues that prompted you to scan for virus' in the first place?

Is your F drive simply a storage partition? What is the exact error you get in DOS when you try to access the D drive, does it recognize it as a drive at all? Are the other two partitions accessible?

What do you mean by;
while boot-up scanned the F: and fixed some
errors, deleted lots of my files(can i get the deleted files
back)?
What did you use to scan the F drive and what deleted the files?

2. i load my harddisk in win98, D: not accessible too.
Did you reformat the harddrive with Win98?

4. I loaded my hardDisk in other pc, with win xp, D: still not
accessible
Did the other PC recognize the harddrive? Were you able to access the other partitions?

Look forward to your reply,

TTFN

LGW

When using trend micro, it does not have any problem if u attempt to stop it halfway. However did u have a back up before hand ?

Sounds to like youre HD has crashed I'm afraid.

while boot-up scanned the F: and fixed some
errors, deleted lots of my files(can i get the deleted files
back)?
With this you mean a diskcheck i think? That would support the idea the HD is trash , the diskcheck probably has found alot of bad sectors that are not accessible anymore now and therefor you have lost alot of files now.

You can get a new HD and hookup the old as a slave and try to save as many data as possible , but i think youre present HD has had it.

Apps like these might help a bit:

Bleah, losing a harddrive,

I just noticed this tool in the advertisements in the banner

Handy Recovery, it might help you to retrieve your lost files.

Look forward to your reply,

Red face :(

hi all, sorry for late reply. No pc to use at home. Yes, it's Housecall.trendmicro online virus scan.
my system was find, just i was boring that day and login TrendMicro to have my pc scan(sound like i was looking for touble myself). I left trendmicro scanning in the morning, the evening i came back the computer hang already. so i pressed reboot butoon. ya... that's all i did.
To clarify:
1. i have a dual OS system. C:win98, D:win2kpro(I use win2k all the time) Eata and F: also Data
2. I boot up my win98, D: is not accessible, prompted warning when i click. F: looks good.
3. then i tried in DOS. which D: is not accessible too when i type "dir" in D: (it said unable to read)
4. like joe5 guessed, when unplug my hd and boot up in another pc(win2k) the boot up diskcheck deleted lotz of my files in F: . In windows, my D: is still not accessible, prompted an invalid warning msg when i click. F: looks fine in windows but lots of files being deleted during the diskcheck.
5. in Winxp, more or less like in win2k, i click on D: it asked me to format.
6. Beside, my C: and E: both in good condition.
7. will nortan Ghost help if i clone D: partion? will i be able to read the contents in the new harddisk after clone?

Thanks for all your help. Appreciate

Im afraid that if the indeed the HD is damaged or data is corrupted that if you are lucky you might safe some of youre data with apps like pcinspector , handy recovery , ect. But some/most or all is probebly lost for good.
