Default Slow Burning issue

Hello guys great site , got loads of good tips already by browsing through threads , great stuff.

Ok my problem is when copying dvd's it is taking me up to 3 hrs ? , is this normal , audio cd's are taking 20 mins.

Dvd copying only took me 20 mins a few weeks back now things seem to have dramatically slowed up ??

I am using Nero 7 Premium
My Pc has an Athlon 3400+ 1024mb mem seems to be well equiped i would think, but i just dont understand what could be slowing things down.

Sorry guys i am not very computer literate , i only know the absolute basics please help.

Gazza

 Hey Gazza_gg,

Welcome to PCHF. We have a terrific team of techs here with a wide variety of computer skills, I am sure we can help you figure this out.

Because this is a recent and rather sudden issue, I would like to start by ruling out malware problems. Can you please follow the instructions for PreWork in my signature, posting back the ewido and HijackThis logs when you are through?

Look forward to your reply,

TTFN

Ewido Suite , this looks rather long winded , and all this uncheck and go into safe mode stuff is just basically a recipe for disaster as far as im concerned , i am not the brightest with computers :-(

The Hijack this log file is an enermous notpad file , if i post this info does it not give away any sensitive information to any passer by ?

Gazza

Hi Gazza_gg,

First of all, if you are infected, following the instructions, which I assure you will not damage your computer and are newbie friendly, will help us to determine exactly what is causing the problem with your computer. You just need to follow them exactly as written.

Secondly, good question, no, the HijackThis log, will simply show what is running on your computer, and indicate to those of us who can read it where problems are located and how to fix them. It is a diagnostic tool.

We have had literally hundreds of people with very little or no computer knowledge follow these and other instructions with no problem. We are very sensitive to people who are uncomfortable with their computers.

Look forward to your reply,

TTFN

Also, DVD's do take a lot longer to burn.

 NP Gazza,

I would very much appreciate it if you would follow the instructions for ewido, it finds things that HijackThis cannot, that is why we use them together.

I will look at your HijackThis log and see what I can find, please follow the remainder of the instructions in the mean time. Edit: Looking at your HJT log, I really think it would be prudent to make sure you run ewido.

@bdude, yes they do, but if you read through Gazza's posts, you will see that this is a fairly recent occurance.
