Thanks Waters, says no device is working fine , but i cannot find the IDE/ATA support devices , i can find IDE ATA ATAPI controllers though , the bit i did look at though seems to say " dma if available "

There are 3 primary and 3 secondary IDE channel bits ? , all dma if available on device 0 + 1 except for the 3rd secondary which says Device 0 PIO only ?

There are also 2 standard duel channel PCI IDE controllers ?

Thanks for all other help i have still to do a test burn and to see if my changes have made a difference, i will let you helpfull people know as soon as :icon_scra
Hope this makes sense
Thanks
Gazza

You can set the third also to DMA. But i think that are quite alot of IDE channels.. But i would have to let one of the hardware guys respond to that.

Maybe a stupid question, but are you using another kind of DVD than before?

Have you checked in the settings of youre burning software if the max burning speed isn't set to 1x?
