Unhappy [Fixed] Can you help me???

Guys & Gals
I ran Clean Me and had to do a repair install afterwards as it deleted a whole load of files that meant my laptop wasn't running properly - its all back up and running ok but I have a slight problem.
You'll (hopefully) see from te pic below that my desktop icons aren't smooth, there's a nice white square behind it, its the same on the quick launch on the bottom - anybody knowhow I can change it back please?
Thanks - I hope uploading this pic is ok?

Hello and welcome to pchelpforum.

Could you try doing the following, open you control panel and then double click on Display.

Under Themes, try change it to Windows XP theme and then apply the changes.

Let us know if that helps,

Hi Zimbo, thank you for your welcome and help.

I, unfortunatley tried this but to no avail.

I am thinking that when I ran Clean Me and it deleted a lot of files it shouldn't have (Apparently I am not the only one to face this?) maybe it has taken something from the registry? To be honest that could be total codswallop as I have no idea what I am talking about lol

Give this a try: go to Control Panel/Performance and Maintenance/system/advanced/performance/settings and select "adjust for best appearence" and press apply.

Hi Joe5, thanks but it all went grey and the blocks were still the same so I went back to best appearance and although its lovely and blue again the white blocks are still there
