Thats was also the intention/instruction to select that one , but you have selected it now and it doesn't work.

I'll have a think about and see if i can find something else.

can you do this... right click on any open space of your desktop/ click properties/ click appearance/then click advanced/there you will see a box that says "desktop". Next to it will be a box that says color one/ click that and change it from white to another color let us know if it changes your white to something else, then we can go from there

Also. if that does not work follow the same instrutions but instead of pressing advanced press effect's and uncheck show shadows in background

Hi Waters (Cool avatar BTW!) Tried all of that and still the same

Now I have managed to delete my "Show Desktop" icon from the quick launch too, I know I dragged it off and then I have deleted by mistake (Yup I emptied the recycle bin too)

Having a mare

You can use this to restore the show desktop icon:

And try this tool to repair the icons:

You legend

I did both of those and although they didn't solve the problem from there I downloaded TWEAK UI and there was a restore icon option and lo & behold everything was back to normal

Only problem I have now is no Internet Explorer icon even though it is selected in the Right-Click/Prop/Desktop/Cutomise Desktop/
