Not? :icon_scra When you run SFC / scannow , then when it needs a file there pops up a search box asking for it.. or am i missing something here?

The options i get when the box pops up are, Ok, More info and Cancel

Thats not what i remember but let's try it an otherway:



Copy the i386 folder to youre C:\ disc.

Start regedit and navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Setup


And on the right hand side:

SourcePath

It probably has an entry pointing to your CD-ROM drive, and that is why it is asking for the XP CD. All you need to do is change it to:

C:\

Simply double click the SourcePatch setting and a new box will pop up allowing you to make the change.

Then run SFC /scannow again.

Nope still is asking for the CD, and i get the same options. EDIT: How do i copy the folder from the CD to my C Drive. Does it effect any of my progarms and files?

If you haven't copyd the i386 folder yet then it isn't gona work for sure.


Just select the folder and copy it , it won't affect anything except diskspace.
