I just bought battlefield 2, funny game. The only problem is, I can only play it online for 10 minutes at a time, tops! Every 2 minutes or so the message "there is a problem with your connection" pops up, sometimes beacuse of a spike. The ping goes wild. This happens two or three times, and then the entire system seems to freeze. No matter what I try to do, the only button that gives any kind of reaction is the reboot, and or off, buttons. It is extremly frustrating. These connection problems only occur during online-gaming with newer games. Civ. 4 and BF2 i.e.
Games like "Americas army" - run fairly ok. At least I don`t have to restart the machine and so on.
A quick look at my specs: Intel Celeron 2.53 mhz, geforce 6600 gt, 1gb ram. Xp-home. Ask!
I have a wireless connection, sharing router with another computer. No-one else is stealing speed. The problem occurs regardless of the other computer is being used or not. I have downloaded the latest drivers. I have used several virus-scan programs, and discovered that i have no problems on that front. Although I am kind of new to computers, so what I am hoping is that the problem sounds familliar to some of you, and that you may have had better luck in fixing the problem than me...
Tips? I`m crawling up the walls here...
