Default [Fixed] My computer keeps restarting and freezing

When I go on the internet a message will show up saying "One of these ad-ons were running and need to be closed" Not sure if that's the exact qoute, but its close enough. Anyways, I would close the ad-on, but it's flash 8 and you can't go on most web sites with out flash. Well, the internet explorer will close out on me after clicking continue on the message and then things get crazy. The computer will either begin to restart by itself or begin freezing up and continue to do so, does anyone know why? I tried re-instaling flash, but that didn't help....Help me please!

Hya Ilg49ers , welcome to PCHF.

Have you also tried uninstalling before reinstalling? If not , give that a try.

And if you could post the exact errer , that could help indeed.

Also have a look to see if its a malware problem by following the "Prework" instructions below and attach the resulting logs to a post please.

Sorry for not quoting it word for word, but I haven't been seeing that anymore anyways. The one that shows up now says the following:

Microsoft Windows
The system has recovered from a serious error.
A log of this error has been created.

Then when I click on the log it say an error for the Internet portal has occurred. So could it be messing up due to the fact I go on the internet through the Internet portal? Also even though it says the system has recovered it still continues to restart or freeze, I have no idea why. I thought it was my computer mouse was getting old, but I got a new one and everything seemed fine, but the last few days it been acting up again

Hmm.. i hope one of the others knows something because i haven't got a clue as to what "an error for the Internet portal has occurred" refers to.
I never heard or seen that before im afraid.

Well, just in case the reason my computer is restarting or freezing has nothing to do with the internet, do you know any other reason why it would?
