Do you have a USB to standard keyboard port (PS/2) adapter? So that you can try the usb keyboard in the normal keyboard port?

Or can you try a "normal" keyboard?

ok, I tried all of those links and they either didnt apply to me or they didnt work. I plugged in my old keyboard/mouse that came with my computer and it still wouldn't work.
Also, I found something else in the eventvwr ....

The mrtRate service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.

.............

DCOM got error "The service database is locked. " attempting to start the service netman with arguments "" in order to run the server:

The second i think is nothing to worry about , and the first seems to relate to "Intuit Quicken" , do you have/had that installed?

What is intuit quicken . . . I've never installed it.

I just wanna be able to click restart and have the computer restart itself without me having to manually turn it off and back on this sucks, why did my computer have to develop a mind of its own:computer_

Here is some info on it:

mrtrate.dll is part of a library used by Intuit Quicken.

http://www.liutilities.com/products/...brary/mrtrate/

Quicken 2004 Deluxe with easier data downloading gives you the big picture on your finances with less time and effort than ever before. Quicken guides you through an easy-to-follow online setup, so you can download your bank, credit card or brokerage transactions into Quicken instead of typing them! Scheduled Updates now let you download anytime - even while you're asleep - so your data is always ready when you are. Want to save even more time? Pay your bills online directly from Quicken, and download stock quotes, news, asset classes, and more. New Guided Setup makes it so easy to get started! A fresh, updated design makes it easier to see where you stand and gives you quicker access to your accounts and the features people use most.

Have a look trough add and remove programs , maybe someone else installed it , or you got it for free with youre pc or something.
