My photoshop has a horrible error which seems to be due to corrupt fonts. Seems to be a system font too.

Hi there wonderland2 welcome to PHCF.
What font are we talking about? When it's a system font the error can be solved by copying the font from the drive:/windows/fonts directory to drive:/Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts The font will be loaded into photoshop next time you start photoshop

Good luck, Bram

well, that's the thing. I have removed all my non system fonts from the directory and (adobe website says) that's supposed to do the trick.

Unless it's a system font.

But there are many, and i don't have a clue which one. That's why i
wanted to just write over them with clean ones.

This is really bad, coz photoshop is rather essential. I've even tried
reinstalling it.

So should i just drag all the system fonts in to the path you said or
has what i've said cancelled that remedy?

cheers

I see... Don't you get an error in photshop telling you which font is missing? All/most fonts installed with windows are freely available on the web. So when you know what font you're missing you can find it using, for example, google, and use the described copy/install method.
Dragging the fonts can also solve your problem (small chance) but worth a try.
Good luck

wow that was the longest error fixing mission i've been on.

Just for others who may experience the same probelm. The error is:

Unable to continue because of a hardware or system error. Sorry, but this
error is unrecoverable.

I looked ALL OVER for font related solutions. One solution was to reinstall
Windows... er... NO.

The solution was to go here in my hard drive:

C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\7.0\Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Settings

and delete the file: Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Prefs.psp

it wasn't a corrupt font. Although some have said it was for them.

praise the lorrrd....
