Default [answered] Windows Startup question(s)

Well I am in a small bind I am trying to disable some start up programs (and have read the awsome tutorials provided here at the forum)But need help in figureing out what is ok to disable(I have diabled ones I was sure about)as I am unsure on a few things.And I do not want to accidently disable some thing I need:cheesy:

Here is a list of some things that I am trying to figure out is ok to go ahead and disable from my start up programs:

ccApp

SNDMon

dxdllreg.exe

HPWUSchd2

DSAgnt

stsystra

atiptaxx

qttask

issch

ISUSPM

ehtray

jusched

It says in my system information that my OS Name is Windows Xp Professional Version 5.1.2600 Service pack two Build 2600(hope that helps)
Sorry if this is confusing but I just need some help I do not want to mess up my Computer.

Symantec?s Common Client Application for Norton AntiVirus 2003/4/5, Norton Personal Firewall 2003/4/5, and Norton Internet Security 2003/4/5. This task is, effectively, the ?master? task in these products as its role is to call the different program features of the above products. For example, if Auto-Protect and E-mail Scanning are enabled, then CCAPP makes sure that those programs are running. If CCAPP is disabled, then Auto-Protect and Email Scanning will not run.

SNDMon

leave this one running.

SNDMon.exe is a process associated with Norton Antivirus application from Symantec. This process should not be removed to ensure that your system security is not breached.

dxdllreg.exe

Should be disabled

dxdllreg.exe is an application which is supposed to request you register your version of DirectX, however sometimes it stays resident. Should be removed from the startup

HPWUSchd2

can be disabled without problems afaik

hpwuschd2.exe is a process belonging to the Hewlett Packard Software Update Scheduler which displays update information regarding HP's range of products.


DSAgnt

can be disabled without problems afaik

DSAgnt.exe is a process belonging to Dell Support which offers additional support and update features for your Dell computer or laptop.

stsystra

you loose youre C-major audio tray icon if diabled , but can be disabled without problems afaik

SigmaTel C-Major Audio Tray App

stsystra.exe is a process belonging to SigmaTel.


atiptaxx

you loose youre Ati tray icon if disabled , but can be disabled without problems afaik

ATIPtaxx.exe is the traybar process for your ATI graphics card drivers. It gives you easy access to your graphic card settings.

qttask

you loose the Quicktime tray icon if removed , but can be disabled without problems afaik

qttask.exe produced by Apple, installs a tray bar icon which links to the Apple QuickTime video streaming tool.

issch

can be disabled without problems afaik

issch.exe is an update service relating to the InstallShield utility which keeps this software up to date.

ISUSPM

can be disabled without problems afaik

isuspm.exe is a process that belongs InstallShield from Macrovision. The process automatically checks for the latest updates online. By removing this process you will not get informed about the latest updates for InstallShield.

ehtray

you loose youre winmedia center tray icon if removed , but can be disabled without problems afaik

ehtray.exe is a process is the tray bar process for the Microsoft Media Center. It gives you easy access to the digital media manager.

jusched

can be disabled without problems afaik

jusched.exe is a process installed alongside Sun Microsystem's Java2 suite and, and checks for/installs Java updates.

Thanks for the helpI was also wondering,on the afaik ones is it recommended to be left on the start up?Thanks again.

Like i said , they can be disabled without problems , have a look at the description and decide if you want to have them running.
