Whats the best virus program I can run in Safe Mode? I can access My Computer in Safe Mode just not in normal mode. From what im getting from this forum and others its either A. the power supply or B. one very hefty virus (not spyware).

You could download the following:
Alternatively you can download a trial of Norton or something like that.

Make sure you update the definitions before you boot into safemode and run the scan.

Ok i encountered the following maybe this might be the problem. My CPU temp is at 85 degrees C and my fan is a bit dusty. Could this affect the reason for auto shutdown?

That is pretty hot and could be the cause for reboots , is it a pentium or an amd?
Try to clean the fan and heatsink , or maybe replace it to get the temp down.

But that wouldn't explain the errors you have , looking at youre hjt and ewido log there aren't to much problems there and those should be gone now , btw you didn't post a new hjt log yet. (please attach it to a post)

I would run a test on youre memory with memtest:

http://www.memtest86.com/

And run a diskcheck ,in "my computer" , rightclick on youre hd(s) and select tools/error checking/check now.

Also give this a go:

go to start / run and in the run window type in:
sfc /scannow >enter
Have you XP CD in youre drive, and it'll run itself, replacing any missign or damaged protected XP files.

EDIT: did you also run the app that Zimbo posted?

Would you be able to download Burnintest from the following link:
http://www.passmark.com/download/index.htm

Then run the program in safemode and run scans on your hard drive as well as your memory.
Let us know whether it finds any problems.

Ok I got it working now. The problem WAS it was overheating. Right now I have a fan in front of it. lol. I also have to stop leaving the PC on for 2 weeks at a time without shutting down. I think that was a major problem to do with it. Thanks guys for your help.

Glad you got it sorted.

But it might be better to get a new , stronger fan instead of having a fan next to youre pc though.

I guess i was wrong lol. I didn't think heat would have such a diversity in errors , but aslong as it works , I'm happy to. O0

Marked as fixed.

I agree with Joe, either oil the current fan in your PC or better still go out and buy a brand new fan.
It not a good idea to keep your PC case open because it affects the airflow within the case.
