Exclamation [Resolved] suspicious BIOS warning when booting PC

Hi there! Sorry if I have posted this in the wrong section - I'm new to this so please forgive.

I need some help! I switched on my pc this morning and it came up with this warning that says:

!!WARNING!! Loading BIOS Settings. Don't reset or power off!!!

The warning is in red writing and fades in then fades out again on a cycle of about 20 seconds. The pc also sends out one single beep every 20 seconds as well.

I have no idea what it's problem is but all I can assume is that I've picked up a virus.

Could someone please help me out - I have no idea how to get rid of or around this warning! It's very suspicious looking!

Thank you so much in advance!

Hya Baggy , welcome to PCHF.

Do you get that message before or after windows loads? And do the beebs keep on going or only until windows is started?

To see if it is a virus or other malware problem , please follow the instructions in the "Prework" link below and we'll have a look at that after you post the 2 resulting log files.

Hi there, thanks for the welcome.

The message is the first thing that appears when I turn on the pc and it just keeps looping. It does not get past this warning so windows isn't loading...

I should also clarify what the warning looks like: The whole screen is black with the red message centered in the middle of the screen doing it's thing by fading in and out....

Then it can't be a problem in windows , then it could be a "normal" warning of youre bios.

Can you post the brand and model of youre Motherboard?

Also try resetting the cmos by removing the battery (unplug power) and switch around a jumper for half a minute.
Have a look in youre mobo's manuall for detailed instructions.

Also try booting with as much hardware (internal and external) removed , and see if you can boot.

Thank you so much joe - I will try that, although please bear with me as I'm new to this!

The motherboard is an Albatron KX18D Pro

Thanks joe for your comments and suggestions. It turns out the battery was fading so a newie fixed the problem! It would've been much more helpful if the PC shot me a "low battery" warning instead of the one I was getting!!

Thanks again for your help, I'm one relieved camper now. :hello2:
