This is getting a bit strange.. Its a ghost entry.. lol. :icon_scra

Let's try it like this:



[Boot Loader]
Timeout=5

[Operating Systems]
C:\="Windows"


or:

[Boot Loader]
Timeout=5

[Operating Systems]
C:\="Windows (default)"




PS , here is also some info about replacing a BOOTSECT.DOS , but i think if it was corrupted that you would get an error stating that it was corrupted:

Making these changes just changed the name of the first item as displayed at the selection "pause" - the second option was still there, still titled "Windows (default)", still selected by default, and still caused the missing hal.dll error.

I think maybe I'll just take it into my local pros. I'm getting gray hairs, and I've got websites to design.

One more question but I'll ask it top-level for the benefit of others...

you might have to change your cables on your hard drives switch the master to slave and the slave to master
