Did you also look under "display adapters"? It should be there.
If not , then what is listed under "display adapters"?

Under display adapters is 'NVIDIA GeForce 6200'. Before i disable this, is it wise to make a back up of my documents? Because last time i did it my moniter displayed 'no input signal' and i had 2 reinstall windows.

No , don't disable it. But now we know its there atleast , since you couldn't find it.

Go to add and remove programs and uninstall the video drivers there , reboot and cancel the windows installer , delete the nvidia folder on youre C: disk , and install these drivers:
