That 'EncodeDivXExt' isn't present is possible but 'SystemFileAssociations' should be there. (but it is possible that "{87D62D94-71B3-4b9a-9489-5FE6850DC73E}" also isn't present.)

Have another look for the second one , and also you can have a look here and try the 2 options posted there:

Those fixes don't have only to do with deleting files but as mentioned on that page also explorer problems , mainly "preview" crashes.

Open a command window (Start->Run, type in 'cmd' hit enter)

To remove media preview, type and hit enter :
regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll

And to restore the setting as it was (if it doesn't work) , type and hit enter:

regsvr32 shmedia.dll

I apologise, 'SystemFileAssociations' is there but "{87D62D94-71B3-4b9a-9489-5FE6850DC73E}" isnt.
I downloaded the codec pack and that deleted the broken codecs (i think) but i still can't play videos.
Open a command window (Start->Run, type in 'cmd' hit enter)

To remove media preview, type and hit enter :
regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll

And to restore the setting as it was (if it doesn't work) , type and hit enter:

regsvr32 shmedia.dll
I did that, it didn't help so i restored it.

Thanks for all your ideas but nothing has worked!!!
